A new report that analyzes healthcare IT purchasing by hospital tax status has been issued by HIMSS Analytics and the Dorenfest Institute for Health Information.
The HIMSS Analytics Database, 2012 edition, covers HIT use at nearly 5,400 hospitals in the U.S., as well as 26,000 ambulatory facilities in the country. It's considered to be the most complete and longest-running survey of HIT capacity at U.S. hospitals, according to HIMSS.
HIMSS Analytics also released two research reports to the Dorenfest Institute: one that analyzes HIT buying behaviors of hospitals based on hospital tax status, and another that analyzes the health IT acquisition and implementation patterns of U.S. hospitals.
The reports are available to hospitals for free at Dorenfest's website.
