Texas health information exchange (HIE) Healthcare Access San Antonio (HASA) has achieved full accreditation with the Texas Health Information Exchange Accreditation Program from the Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC) and the Texas Health Services Authority (THSA).
HASA is the first HIE to achieve Texas HIE accreditation and the fourth in the U.S. to receive recognition from the EHNAC, according to HIETexas, which is operated by THSA. Texas HIE accreditation is designed to ensure that HIEs within Texas are interoperable with state and federal programs, and that they provide the private, secure, and proper exchange of health information in accordance with established laws and public policy, according to HIETexas.
HASA serves Bexar and 21 surrounding counties in South Central Texas.
