Radiation oncology and x-ray firm Varian Medical Systems plans to launch a new data analytics tool for its Aria oncology information system at next week's American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) meeting.
InSightive Analytics is an interactive dashboard and data visualization tool that gives radiation oncology facilities the ability to use data and metrics to manage their practices. Users can access, organize, and analyze Aria data acquired during clinical and administrative operations, the company said.
The tool includes prebuilt templates to organize and display healthcare metrics across hospitals, clinics, or networks. Data can be acquired on payor mix, referral sources, ZIP codes, operational performance, patient volume, and other factors. Information can also be compared to historical data to analyze trends, and reports can be exported as Excel or Adobe PDF files and email messages.
InSightive Analytics is being shown at ASTRO as a work-in-progress and is not yet commercially available, according to Varian.
