Nuance Communications has launched a new PowerShare Innovation Program, which opens up the company's entire cloud-based PowerShare network platform and its PowerScribe reporting to third parties.
Nuance has already inked contracts for the program with the American College of Radiology (ACR) and Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH).
The PowerShare Innovation Program will serve more than 2,000 provider organizations that use the PowerShare Network, as well as more than 1,600 provider organizations that use PowerScribe, according to Nuance. The program will provide radiologists, other clinicians, patients, government agencies, specialty medical societies, and other organizations with the information they need for improved clinical decision-making and patient outcomes across the continuum of care, the company said.
ACR plans to use the PowerShare Innovation Program to automate the process of collecting and submitting Physician Quality Reporting System data for radiologists. It will also disseminate its various clinical guidances with PowerScribe.
As for MGH, it plans to deliver a set of radiology clinical decision-support guidelines to the broader radiology community by integrating them into its PowerScribe workflow, so that radiologists can access these guidelines at the point of interpretation, the company said. Nuance will then share these guidelines with providers across the country using its PowerShare Network.
