Radiation therapy vendor Varian Medical Systems has formed a strategic alliance with oncology software developer Flatiron Health to develop electronic health record (EHR), data analytics, and decision-support software for cancer treatment centers.
The firms said they will collaborate to provide a cloud-based integrated medical oncology, radiation oncology, and data analytics product suite. Initially, both Varian and Flatiron will offer Flatiron's OncoEMR cloud-based medical oncology EHR. Later this year, OncoEMR will become interoperable with Varian's Aria oncology information system, the companies said. More details on the collaboration will be provided this fall.
