GE Healthcare has initiated a seven-year collaboration with Hartford HealthCare in Hartford, CT, focused on using analytics to achieve measurable improvements in patient care and outcomes.
As part of the collaboration, GE will deploy its analytics tools to help determine the best strategies for clinical program and capacity design. The organizations said they would also share expertise to focus on access, patient care, and efficiency.
GE will also help implement and activate the institution's new Care Logistics Center, which will seek to improve patient and staff experience by decreasing waiting times and improving communication between providers and facilities. GE and Hartford HealthCare said their collaboration has four main objectives:
- Enhance the patient experience through more efficient access to diagnosis, testing, and treatment
- Leverage advanced analytics to support ongoing operational and clinical improvements that could lead to faster care
- Drive improved efficiency to lower the cost of care and provide more than $14 million in savings over the seven-year course of the relationship
- Further develop complex digital imaging services, with improved staffing models and better technology to enable more efficient access for patients across the system
Both organizations have committed to achieving measurable improvements and outcomes over the seven-year initiative, according to the companies. GE said the collaboration is the first of its kind in New England.
