The AHRA hosted a summit on February 20 to discuss the development of recommendations for implementing the requirement that ordering physicians must consult a clinical decision-support mechanism/appropriate use criteria as a condition of payment for certain advanced imaging services.
Participants included representatives from the AHRA, the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the American College of Radiology (ACR), X12, the National Uniform Billing Committee (NUBC), and the Imaging e-Ordering Coalition, as well as companies specializing in the areas of clinical decision support, electronic health records, and radiology billing, according to the association.
