British healthcare IT firm Torex has been busy building its RIS portfolio. The Bromsgrove-based company has acquired German RIS and IS provider GAP Management for $14 million (U.S.), and British RIS vendor Amersham Medical Systems for $12 million.
Torex said the acquisition of Mannheim, Germany-based GAP provides entry into the German radiology market, among other benefits. Berkhamsted-based Amersham is the largest provider of RIS networks to England's National Health Service (NHS) Trust, holding a 35% market share, Torex said.
