Analogic reported third-quarter revenues of $72.9 million, down 20% compared with the $91 million reported in the third quarter last year. For the period (end-April 30), the Peabody, MA-based firm had net income of $2.7 million, compared with net income of $4.9 million last year.
Analogic is making progress recovering from declines in the telecommunications and semiconductor markets, which led to reductions in its communications-related signal processing and semiconductor-related test equipment businesses, said chairman and CEO Bernard Gordon. Gordon said that the company is also positive about new opportunities for growth in its health technology and explosives detection activities.
