WebMD Q2 shows revenue down, losses trimmed

Healthcare services and information technology developer WebMD reported fiscal second-quarter revenues of $196.1 million, down from $197.4 million posted in the same period last year. For the quarter (end-June 30), the Elmwood Park, NJ-based company had a net loss of $22.2 million, compared with a net loss of $821.8 million in the second quarter last year.

The firm’s RIS subsidiary, Medical Manager Health Systems of Van Nuys, CA, reported revenues of $66.1 million for the June 2002 quarter. Earnings before interest, restructuring, noncash, and other expenses were $6.2 million, comparable to the first quarter of 2002, according to the company.
