Agfa signs Norwegian IT deal

Agfa HealthCare has received a PACS and RIS contract from the Helse Vest - Western Norway Regional Health Authority.

Agfa, in partnership with IT firm eCare, will be integrating radiology information from patients in 15 private and public hospitals in the region, according to the Mortsel, Belgium-based vendor. The Vestlandet region in Norway performs approximately 800,000 radiology exams per year.

Under the terms of the deal, Agfa will be providing project management, installation, training, implementation, and support services for the major part of the delivery. Agfa said it will begin taking hospitals online in November, with full integration expected to be completed by the end of spring 2007.
