PACS firm Carpe eDatum of Austin, TX, has made a combination PACS/computed radiography installation aboard a cruise ship operated by Holland America.
Carpe eDatum went aboard Holland America's ms Zaandam cruise ship to install Issa PACS software from Vamstec of Zagreb, Croatia, and a CR reader from iCRco of Torrance, CA. Carpe eDatum was assisted on the installation by Ship-Rad Services of Vancouver, British Columbia.
Images collected aboard the ms Zaandam will be sent via satellite link to the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, TX. The installation is the first PACS/CR retrofit aboard a Holland America ship; previous installations have been on newly constructed ships.
