Guardian begins clinical evaluation of 3i technology

RIS/PACS vendor Guardian Technologies International of Herndon, VA, has agreed to have PACS pioneer H. K. (Bernie) Huang clinically evaluate the company's 3i intelligent imaging analysis algorithm for medical imaging.

Huang, of the Image Processing and Informatics (IPI) Laboratory at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California, will evaluate the software for breast, lung, and brain imaging applications. 3i technology is designed to identify different types of organic objects, even when masked by one or more other objects of similar density and chemical composition, the company said.
