Agfa HealthCare has been named the preferred vendor for the Toronto East Network’s (TEN) regional PACS project.
The TEN Diagnostic Imaging PACS project is a joint initiative managed by a voluntary consortium of 16 hospital corporations; these hospitals manage 26 clinical sites throughout the central, east, and northern regions of Ontario in local health integration networks (LHINs) 7, 8, and 9. The project aims to share images and reports across all 26 hospital sites, according to Agfa of Mortsel, Belgium.
A three-year phased implementation strategy will result in a shared diagnostic imaging repository for images and reports, and will require integration of several RIS and PACS networks from different vendors, Agfa said.
As the preferred vendor, Agfa will be able to negotiate a binding contract for the provision of its Impax PACS network for current non-PACS sites (four hospitals corporations across eight sites) in the TEN and for the implementation of the regional imaging repository.
