Image management firm Emageon posted record second-quarter revenues of $30 million, up 62% compared with the $18.6 million turned in during the second quarter of 2005. For the period (end-June 30), the Birmingham, AL-based vendor had a net loss of $900,000, compared with net income of $1.9 million a year ago.
The net loss included $1.1 million in expenses related to the integration of Camtronics Medical Systems, $1 million in amortization of intangible assets acquired in the Camtronics acquisition, and noncash expense of $800,000 for stock options-based compensation. Contracted backlog reached $170 million on June 30, up $44 million from a year ago.
