The Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM, formerly SCAR) and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) are working together on the development and administration of a Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP) program.
The Great Falls, VA-based SIIM said that the CIIP certification program represents a merging of clinical and IT models into one comprehensive exam, and will provide a certification appropriate for both radiologic technologist and IT professionals. SIIM said it anticipates an expedited process in exam development now that the partnership is in place.
