Siemens Medical Solutions has formed an Image and Knowledge Management division.
The new division combines the vendor's syngo multimodality imaging software platform, RIS/PACS, and computer-aided detection (CAD) businesses, and incorporates a new business in the area of knowledge-based clinical decision support, according to the Malvern, PA-based firm.
Ajit Singh, Ph.D., will head the new division, transferring from his post as president of Siemens Oncology Care Systems (OCS). Holger Schmidt, former president of Siemens Special Systems division, will succeed Singh as president of Siemens OCS.
Replacing Schmidt as president of Siemens Special Systems will be Jochen Dick, who will leave his current position of president and CEO of Siemens-Asahi Medical Technologies in Tokyo.
