Kodak will feature new software for its CareStream Enterprise Information Management (EIM) service.
The software is designed to equip healthcare providers with more convenient access to images, while facilitating integration of studies with electronic medical record (EMR) systems, according to the Rochester, NY-based vendor.
A content viewer allows users to access a variety of files on storage systems managed by EIM. For example, physicians could open imaging studies stored on cardiology, oncology, and other imaging systems in addition to traditional radiographic procedures available through the PACS network, Kodak said.
System administrators can control access, granting read-only or read-write privileges; access can also be limited to individual patients or specific exam modalities, according to the vendor.
The content viewer comes in two forms: a Web browser capable of launching applications such as DICOM viewers, Adobe Acrobat Reader, and Microsoft Paint; and a content viewer capable of displaying DICOM studies, JPEG images, and Adobe PDF files at nursing stations and other locations with networked PCs, Kodak said. Both capabilities are available as options.
