(Booth 8913) Vidar will bring a range of new digitizer offerings, including an upgrade to its ClinicalExpress software, to Chicago.
Vidar also will highlight an enhanced version of its Sierra plus film digitizer, which includes an LED light source for improved reliability and lower total cost of ownership. The company also has incorporated a USB 2.0 interface for easier integration and has complied with the European Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive, which restricts the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. The new version is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2009.
The company also will display CAD Pro Advantage, a digitizer designed for use in mammography computer-aided detection (CAD) applications. CAD Pro Advantage allows for the digitizing of film-based prior studies and includes software dedicated to high-volume applications, Vidar said. It comes with a continuous loading, modular 50-sheet feeder and can digitize a four-film study in less than two minutes, according to the vendor.
Vidar's DiagnosticPro Advantage offering will also be in the booth. Designed for high-volume, general radiography environments, the digitizer includes a standard 25-sheet film feeder that can accommodate mixed film sizes. It can also be deployed in a low-volume mammography setting, Vidar said.
Finally, Vidar will again show its DosimetryPro Advantage digitizer, designed for use with Gafchromic EBT film dosimetry, quality assurance, and intensity-modulated radiation therapy.
