PACS vendor Medweb introduced several imaging and imaging informatics products designed for use by first responders at the American Telemedicine Association (ATA) Fall Forum, held September 10 and 11 in New Orleans.
The Medweb MT2 telemedicine toolkit includes a vascular ultrasound unit, an electrocardiogram, and other medical devices that measure vital signs, all contained in a small case. The case also includes an LED digital display, a laptop computer, a video camera, and a solar panel with a lithium ion battery that provides up to seven days of regular usage without a separate power source.
The toolkit transfers data wirelessly and works with Medweb's m-Health apps for smartphones, as well as Medweb's SmartConsult encounter management software running on a mobile tablet using Microsoft Windows operating software.
The kit is designed to upload image data to an electronic medical record, a PACS, or Medweb's cloud services using a cellphone or wireless Internet services.
