PACS software developer DR Systems has been awarded a patent from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for a system and method designed to transmit and retrieve medical data.
U.S. Patent No. 7,970,625 describes an "Auto Pull" retrieval of medical data, through which a computer system receives filter criteria from a user of a first computer, DR Systems said.
The computer system may also receive schedule information defining a schedule for checking for medical data. With the received schedule, the computer system or a remote server periodically selects medical data based on received user-specific rules, according to the company. The selected medical data are then transmitted to the computer system.
