Cloud-based imaging platform developer DICOM Grid said it has signed a collaborative agreement for continued development of a mobile platform medical image viewer.
DICOM Grid's proprietary mobile technology is designed to allow doctors and providers to send images to a facility in advance of a physician visit to enhance the evaluation and treatment of patients. The Mayo Clinic will work with DICOM Grid to provide expertise from the clinical perspective, the company said.
The program will begin in the fourth quarter and will be used internally at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Upon completion of the pilot, DICOM Grid will evaluate the potential of making the mobile technology available to other medical institutions across the U.S.
