Healthcare IT and advanced visualization developer Merge Healthcare said that it will connect its imaging network with the Surescripts Network for Clinical Interoperability.
The connectivity will allow hospitals and imaging centers to electronically deliver imaging reports to healthcare organizations through electronic health records (EHRs) on the Surescripts Network. Ordering physicians will also be able to access and view images via Merge's Honeycomb cloud-based image sharing service, Merge said.
Current Merge customers and those using other image management systems will be able to utilize Merge technology to become part of this new electronic delivery model, Merge said.
In other news, the company announced at RSNA 2012 that its iConnect enterprise clinical platform is now available through the EMC Select program, which aims to help customers acquire components for an enterprise infrastructure. Merge's iConnect Access, iConnect Share, and iConnect Enterprise Archive will be available through EMC Select, according to the company.
