Printing firm Lexmark International has purchased image management technology developer Acuo Technologies for approximately $45 million in cash. Acuo will become part of Lexmark's Perceptive Software company.
The addition of Acuo and its Universal Clinical Platform (UCP) will allow Perceptive Software to offer customers a single, enterprise-wide access platform for clinical content via any electronic medical record (EMR) system, according to Lexmark. The firms will offer enterprise content management (ECM), vendor-neutral archiving with clinical content viewing, and database conversion services.
