Teleradiology services firm Virtual Radiologic (vRad) has implemented a live video diagnostics site for breast imaging at the Center for Women's Imaging at Medical Center Hospital (MCH) in Odessa, TX.
The operation uses Cisco technology to enhance mammography coverage and workflow by connecting vRad's fellowship-trained breast imaging physicians with MCH technologists and patients in real-time, vRad said.
For example, this includes Cisco TelePresence technology and also end-to-end Cisco network architecture, which prioritizes and carries video traffic in high-definition formats.
The 402-bed regional medical center provides advanced medical services to more than 100,000 patients in the immediate area and surrounding 17 counties, according to the company.
