Open-source software provider Red Hat and Boston Children's Hospital are teaming up to deploy a web-based medical imaging collaboration software platform on the Massachusetts Open Cloud (MOC).
Designed to facilitate real-time collaboration between clinicians and radiologists around the world, the ChRIS Research Integration Service was developed by the hospital using a variety of Red Hat open-source technologies, according to the company. ChRIS offers a standardized way of deploying imaging applications; app containers built for ChRIS come prepackaged with all of the required libraries, enabling users to quickly install an app and use it in an orchestrated manner within the platform, Red Hat said.
Boston Children's Hospital and the MOC plan to make ChRIS available to other hospitals in Boston and elsewhere, according to Red Hat. The company said it's also assisting in the development of the platform by providing coding help and guidance.
