Healthcare IT company Novarad is set to offer lung cancer screening software developed by PenRad through a new collaboration.
Per the agreement, Novarad will integrate PenRad's PenLung and PenAlert software for automatic tracking and reporting of lung cancer screening results into its NovaPACS enterprise imaging platform. With the support of new guidelines encouraging screening, the volume of low-dose lung cancer CT scans has been rising, resulting in a 37% increase in outpatient lung imaging revenue, according to Novarad. The lung screening software improves efficiency to help manage a larger caseload, the company noted.
Novarad previously partnered with PenRad on mammography tracking software.
