DALLAS - National Imaging Associates is using this week's Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society meeting to roll out RadMD.com, a Web-based radiology benefits management system. NIA, of Upper Saddle River, NJ, believes the system could help imaging providers reduce the amount of time they spend checking patient eligibility and referral networks.
RadMD.com is the online version of NIA's offline radiology benefits management program, which this year will be used for consulting in over one million cases representing $500 million in radiology revenue. The site creates an online gateway between healthcare providers, payors, and consumers to ensure that imaging technologies are used as efficiently as possible.
NIA said that 160 physicians will begin using RadMD.com in the next 60 days as part of an early testing and refinement program. When testing is completed, the program will be rolled out to NIA's client network of over 130,000 physicians.
