Marconi Medical Systems’ Health Care Products division has signed a three-year, sole-source agreement with group purchasing organization Catholic Healthcare West. Under terms of the agreement, Marconi HCP will be the sole provider of radiology-related supplies, accessories, and processor service to all 47 CHW hospitals.
Marconi HCP had been supplying 16 of the group purchasing organization’s facilities, generating annual sales of $5 million. With the new deal, Cleveland-based Marconi expects to generate annual sales of more than $15 million. Eventually, CHW will access its purchasing and supplies information through Marconi HCP’s Web site, www.marconihcp.com, according to Marconi.
In other Marconi news, the vendor has signed an $8.5 million multivendor technology management agreement with Shands Jacksonville Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL. The agreement for Marconi Technology Management’s ProServe management service covers hundreds of systems across many departments, and expands on a previous 36-month agreement with Shands.
The new agreement also covers several other Marconi businesses. Marconi Health Care Products is providing processor service, chemistry, and radiology supplies, while Marconi Communications is contributing information management technologies. A Marconi Communications engineering team recently redesigned the medical center’s information infrastructure before adding the new PACS hardware, Marconi said.
