In an article published October 29, 2002, we incorrectly stated that problems at MDS Nordion’s Maple 1 reactor in Chalk River, ON, had prompted the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission to decommission the reactor.
In fact, the CNSC temporarily halted commissioning of the reactor. MDS Nordion has since received authorization to resume commissioning the facility.
