Video-capsule manufacturer Given Imaging of Yoqneam, Israel, reported that record sales of its PillCam SB capsules helped advance its financial standing in the third quarter (end-September 30).
Worldwide sales of the Given Diagnostic System and Given PillCam video capsules reached $19.8 million in the third quarter, up 36% over sales of $14.6 million in the third quarter of 2004. Net profit reached $1.9 million, compared with $114,000 in the same quarter a year ago.
For the nine-month period, sales rose 46% to $62.3 million, compared with $42.8 million in the same period last year. Net income climbed to $2.8 million, compared with $450,000 in the same period a year ago.
