GE Healthcare reported fourth-quarter revenues of $4.49 billion, up 5% compared with the $4.26 billion booked in the same period a year ago. For the quarter (end-December 31), the Chalfont St. Giles, U.K., division posted profit of $995 million, compared with profit of $860 million in 2004.
In fourth-quarter highlights, GE cited strong demand for orders in CT, ultrasound, and MR, including more than $215 million in orders for its LightSpeed Volume CT scanner.
For the year, GE had revenues of $15.15 billion, up 13% compared with the $13.46 billion posted in 2004. GE had 2005 profit of $2.67 billion, compared with profit of $2.29 billion last year.
