Siemens to buy Diagnostic Products

Multimodality vendor Siemens Medical Solutions of Malvern, PA, and Diagnostic Products Corporation (DPC) of Los Angeles have signed an agreement for Siemens to acquire DPC, an immunodiagnostics firm, for $1.86 billion.

DPC develops, manufactures, and distributes automated body fluid analyzers and tests related to cancer and cardiac disease, as well as hormone and allergy conditions.

Pending shareholder and regulatory approvals, the company will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Siemens Medical Solutions USA.
