GE Healthcare has amended its complaint against Israeli electronics technology firm Orbotech over the supply of cadmium zinc telluride (CZT) modules.
Chalfont St. Giles, U.K.-based GE is expanding the litigation to include some of the breach of contract claims that were previously requested to be referred to arbitration in Israel, according to Orbotech of Yavne, Israel. GE is requesting compensatory, consequential, exemplary, and punitive damages in an unspecified amount, Orbotech said.
In its original complaint, filed November 4, 2008, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, GE had asserted that Orbotech was obligated to supply GE Medical Systems Israel with CZT modules at a specific price per module. Orbotech said it will continue to defend the matter vigorously.
