Disposable products developer Merit Medical Systems has entered into a stock purchase agreement to acquire Thomas Medical Products from GE Healthcare in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $167 million.
Thomas Medical Products, based in Malvern, PA, designs and manufactures catheter-based vascular-access delivery devices for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in electrophysiology, cardiac rhythm management, interventional cardiology, and interventional radiology applications.
Merit Medical estimated that Thomas Medical Products will generate revenues of approximately $37 million in 2012.
The company expects to complete the transaction before the end of this year.
