Siemens Healthcare is offering three strategic consulting services to help hospital and healthcare systems meet healthcare reform objectives such as value-based purchasing programs, reduction of preventable readmissions, and reduction of healthcare-acquired conditions.
The initiatives are part of the 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) and call for organizations to provide quality patient care at reduced costs.
Siemens' Value Based Purchasing (VBP) is designed to assist hospitals in identifying gaps in current processes and technologies, the company said. It highlights changes needed to optimize care delivery and establish performance metrics that can affect incentive payments from the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
Siemens' Preventable Readmissions and Healthcare Acquired Conditions (HACs) services are intended to address the financial and clinical impact of those healthcare reform mandates.
