Philips, Ga. center ink 15-year healthcare deal

Philips Healthcare and Georgia Regents Medical Center (GRMC) have entered into a 15-year agreement valued at approximately $300 million to create a new healthcare delivery model.

The alliance is intended to produce a patient-centric healthcare delivery system to help patients transition from hospital to home as efficiently as possible, according to Philips and GRMC.

Philips will provide GRMC with a range of consulting services, advanced medical technologies, and operational performance, planning, and maintenance services with predetermined monthly costs. The alliance will affect all care areas, including radiology, cardiology, neurology, oncology, and pediatrics, the organizations said.

The agreement, which also targets medical research and clinical technology R&D initiatives for care delivery, is Philips' largest, the company said.
