GE saw both revenue and profit fall in its GE Healthcare division in the third quarter of fiscal 2015 (end-September 30).
For the period, GE Healthcare saw revenues of $4.255 billion, down 5% from sales of $4.485 billion in the same period of 2014. For the nine-month year to date, the healthcare division has recorded revenues of $12.666 billion, down 4% from sales of $13.166 billion for the first nine months of 2014.
The healthcare division recorded segment profit of $652 million, down 10% from a profit of $727 million in the third quarter of 2014. For the nine months to date, GE Healthcare has generated $1.944 billion in segment profit, down 4% from $2.027 billion in profit in the first nine months of 2014.
Orders for the quarter stood at $4.5 billion, down 4% but up 3% excluding foreign currency effects, according to the company. Orders in the U.S. fell 1%, were down 5% in Europe but were up 11% excluding foreign exchange effects, and were down 1% in China.
