U.K. magnetoencephalography (MEG) technology developer York Instruments has sold its first MEGScan system to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
The Texas institution is the first member of the company's MEGScan beta site program. It will use the MEG system for neuroscience research and eventually also for routine clinical evaluations of patients who have epilepsy and other debilitating illnesses, according to the company. The university's Peter O'Donnell Jr. Brain Institute will also utilize the system for research of sports-related mild traumatic brain injury and other brain disorders.
Installation is scheduled for later this year.
