Preclinical image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT) research firm Precision X-Ray and small animal x-ray irradiator company Faxitron Bioptics are combining their irradiation businesses into one entity.
Under the agreement, Faxitron affiliate DRMC X-Ray will acquire the assets of Precision X-Ray and take over the company's corporate headquarters, R&D, and manufacturing operations in North Branford, CT. The Precision X-Ray name will be retained.
The combined company will have an estimated global installed base of 1,000 systems, according to Faxitron, which plans to increase investment in all areas of the business to hasten development and market penetration of its devices.
