Siemens Healthineers Canada has secured a deal worth $270 million Canadian ($204.3 million U.S.) to bring enhanced imaging services to Hamilton Health Sciences hospitals in southwestern Ontario.
Under the terms of the 15-year contract, Siemens will provide comprehensive imaging services to Hamilton's network of teaching and research hospitals in the region. This includes providing, replacing, and maintaining about 500 imaging systems, such as for CT, MRI, ultrasound, mammography, and x-ray.
The multimillion-dollar contract is Siemens' largest deal in the region, according to the company. Siemens and Hamilton have the option to extend the partnership for an additional 10 years.
