Shimadzu Medical Systems USA announced it has completed the first installation in North America of its RADspeed Pro high-end radiography system with power-assisted Glide technology. The milestone unit was installed at Benefis Orthopedic in Helena, MT.
Glide technology is designed to help radiologic technologists position the x-ray assembly more smoothly and comfortably, Shimadzu said. The system senses the amount of force applied by a technologist during each operation and calculates how much assist-force is required to position the assembly; it then activates motors to provide optimal operating assistance in real-time.
Benefis Health System serves about 230,000 residents in a 14-county region in Montana. The system was installed by Shimadzu's Northwest Branch in Kenmore, WA.
