The American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS) has named the recipient of its 2023 distinguished educator award. The award recognizes those who have worked to improve radiological education, the society said.
Awardee Dr. Jon Jacobson of Lenox Hill Radiology in New York City will be recognized at the society's upcoming meeting in April in Honolulu, HI. He presented his first abstract at the 1994 annual meeting; in 2005, he was appointed to the American Journal of Roentgenology editorial advisory panel and served as assistant editor of the journal's musculoskeletal imaging section from 2008 to 2019. In 2008, Jacobson authored the reference book Fundamentals of Musculoskeletal Ultrasound, now in its third edition, according to the ARRS.
Jacobson currently serves on the society's Scientific Program Committee and Educational Evaluation Subcommittee.
