Shimadzu lands first U.S. wireless x-ray install

Shimadzu Medical Systems USA of Torrance, CA, has made the first U.S. installation of its Mobile DaRt wireless mobile digital radiography system.

The unit was installed at the Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman, TX, where the system can transmit data either over the hospital's recently installed wireless network or via a cable to the facility's hospital information system.

Mobile DaRt matches Shimadzu's Mobile Art radiography system with a CXDI-50G flat-panel digital detector manufactured by Canon Medical Systems of Irvine, CA.
