FDA clears new Given software version

Video-capsule developer Given Imaging of Yoqneam, Israel, has received FDA clearance for the newest version of its operating software, Rapid 4.

Used with the company's PillCam system, Rapid 4 includes new features and diagnostic tools that aid in the interpretation of images from the company's PillCam SB and PillCam ESO products, according to the company.

New features include an automatic viewing mode that enables users to regulate the rate of change in video so images flow more smoothly and constantly; a QuickView mode that allows fast preview of video and the highlighting of potentially interesting images; and Rapid Atlas, which compares on-screen case images with known reference images.
