ALI debuts UltraWeb 2.0

PACS firm ALI Technologies has introduced version 2.0 of its UltraWeb Web-based teleradiology application. The new version employs Java technology and image compression (both wavelet and JPEG).

The compression ratios are user-selectable prior to image access, according to the Richmond, BC-based vendor. Users can search the database by patient name, partial first or last name, patient ID, or by exam date.

Image manipulation tools allow users to pan, zoom, rotate images, apply window/level settings, and copy images onto a clipboard for pasting into other Windows-based programs. Access to the image database is available through the hospital's intranet, dial-up access, or via a virtual private network, according to ALI.
