Another vendor has officially joined the digital radiography race. X-ray manufacturer Wuestec Medical has announced that its DR product line is now available. The Mobile, AL-based vendor's charge-coupled device (CCD)-based DX2000 system offers resolution of 11.9 million pixels with 4.1 line pairs/mm, a 65,000 gray-scale palette, and a viewing area of 14 x 17 inches. Diagnostic images are obtained in 15 seconds, according to the firm.
Every Wuestec DX2000 system includes a digital image receptor, Silicon Graphics workstation, x-ray generator, Data Ray high-resolution monitor, DICOM 3.0-compliant PACS viewing software, remote diagnostic capabilities, and an examination table. Prices, at $195,000 to $220,000, are lower than other comparable systems on the market. The firm also offers a financing plan that allows hospitals to pay for equipment on a per-use basis.
