Market research firm TMG changes name

Market research and consulting firm Technology Marketing Group has been renamed the Medical Information division of parent company IMV Limited.

Founded in 1977, Des Plaines, IL-based TMG has focused on technology marketing research and market development, with an emphasis on medical imaging. IMV, of Greenbelt, MD, is a science-based information services company that provides database, survey, marketing, and research data and analysis to companies and other organizations involved in the analytical, clinical diagnostic, and medical imaging equipment and instrumentation markets. IMV acquired TMG in 1999.

As part of IMV, the former TMG will have more services to offer its clients, both vendors and healthcare providers, according to Mitchell Goldburgh, general manager of the Medical Information division. The inclusion in IMV also adds international capabilities, he said. The former TMG’s office location and telephone numbers will remain the same.

The Medical Information division will expand its census database concept and expand it to other healthcare specialty areas in the next year, according to Drew Upton, president of IMV. In addition, IMV will maintain its consulting capabilities to work more closely with healthcare providers and vendors to understand how technology is applied, Upton said.
