Covera, Walmart ink radiology collaboration

Covera Health has signed a multiyear collaboration with Walmart to help Walmart's employees and dependents avoid unnecessary treatment based on inaccurate radiology diagnoses.

Patients and insurers assume that there's no variability in radiological results, the company said, but in fact, the accuracy of the exam and the diagnoses patients receive can vary from provider to provider.

Walmart's employees and their dependents will have access to Covera's Radiology Centers of Excellence program. The program consists of a nationwide network of radiologists that includes ongoing quality assurance and monitoring, according to Covera.
