Video-capsule manufacturer Given Imaging of Yoqneam, Israel, said that the American Medical Association has assigned a permanent CPT code for reimbursement of capsule endoscopy. The code, 91110, will be effective on January 1, 2004. The reimbursement value of the new code is expected to be published later this year by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services as part of the 2004 physician fee schedule, the firm said.
